9-10 MAY 2020 VERONA'S EXHIBITION
Alfa Romeo is one of the oldest car manufacturing brands in the world which is still active and it's one of the most fiercely loved by car enthusiasts. The Italian car legend has reached a momentous anniversary: 110 years of exceptional results. It has succeeded in bringing positive values and the excitement of car-racing into mass-produced cars. But this brand is not all about speed: Alfa Romeo's practically unrivalled success is the result of innovation, design and the concept of "necessary beauty” which is pure, communicative and has no frills. This combination makes Alfa Romeos truly special: these cars are "designed by the wind", it's true, but they are also "family cars that win races".
In the 30s, Alfa Romeos were practically unbeatable on the racetrack because they developed technical solutions that were at least 10 years ahead of time compared to the competition. The same can be said about Giulietta in the 50s: it was the first sports sedan designed for the masses which, in its convertible version, instantly outclassed the English roadsters, which in terms of fashion at the time were deemed the Holy Grail. Between the 60s and 70s, Alfa 33 was universally recognised as one of the best sports cars ever made with regard to aesthetics and efficiency. In the 90s, this tradition was confirmed when Alfa Romeo developed Common Rail technology which radically transformed the performances and appeal of diesel engines.
The Alfas were winning on the racetrack, creating a very strong bond with the audience (one which still exists today), but right from the very start they were never just sports cars: they were luxury, stylish cars, with a quintessentially sports-racing soul. This was the case of Giulia in the 60s, of the Montréal, of the Alfa 156 in the 90s which won a plethora of awards won for style alone, and it's what the 8C and more recent 4C represent today.
This is the horizon of a legendary Italian car manufacturer known all over the world, a horizon which will open up in the vast spaces of Verona Legend Cars on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th May 2020.
Thanks to the event organised by the Alfa Romeo Dolomiti Club, this is an opportunity to experience and enjoy the passion for Alfa in its many facets.
